As announced, DBI Certification has opened its UK based office in Gloucestershire, England. The status right now is that we are waiting for evaluation by UKAS and the approval from the UK authorities - to be accredited as an approved body for UKCA certifications in time for our clients to be able to market their products in the UK after 1 January 2022.

UKAS -The United Kingdom Accreditation Service - is the National Accreditation Body for the United Kingdom appointed by the UK government, to assess and accredit organisations that provide services including certification, testing, inspection and calibration. UKAS remains member of the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA)

We have close cooperation with UKAS and currently, they are evaluating DBI Certification’s approved quality management system. Our quality management system, which is following the European co-operation for Accreditation standards, has been accredited by the Danish authorities DANAK for 15 years, and DBIC UK is using the same system for accreditation with UKAS.

DBI Certification UK is preparing to have formal UKAS accreditation in August, and by then we will be able to approve products and their quality management processes to the UKCA certification-marking scheme.

DBI Certification UK will have a dedicated representative and we will host a new UK based website with relevant UK certification content. In case you already now have questions or just need detailed information on future certification for approaching the UK market, we are ready to advise you.

We emphasize the fact that according to the UK government’s guidance for manufacturers with DBI Certification approved products; you will not be required to have the UKCA mark before 1 January 2022 in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland). The guidance clearly states that if your product requires third-party conformity assessment, and it was carried out by an EU recognized notified body, you will be able to continue using the CE mark until the end of 2021.
