New opportunity for Wheelmark certification

DBI Certification A/S is now accredited for MED/1.44a and MED/1.44b.

This means that manufacturers of Public Address and General Alarm (PAGA) systems and marine loudspeakers can now have their products assessed and certified by DBI Certification for Wheelmark certification and access to the European market.

Which products are covered?

MED/1.44a - control and distribution systems

Covers central units, amplifiers, routing units, microphone stations, alarm generators, power supplies and software-controlled control units for distributing alarms and voice messages on board.

MED/1.44b - marine loudspeakers

Covers loudspeakers and horn loudspeakers for cabins, common areas, open decks, engine rooms and other noisy working areas.

A clearer route to market

Wheelmark certification is essential for products intended for installation on ships flying the flag of an EU Member State, Norway or Iceland.
